Peru: Exports grew onions 75% in January

The ; onion exports Peru grew by 75% during the month of January this year, the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG). Registering $ 2.8 million in revenue was achieved four export 12 000 tonnes of the vegetables, a 108.8% increase over last year.

The main destination markets are Colombia, with 71% U.S., 16%, and Spain with 9%.

Main onion producers in Peru are concentrated in Arequipa, Lima, Lambayeque, Ica, La Libertad and Junin.
