Oscar Contreras, president of the sugarcane growers of the state of Portuguesa, expressed concern Thursday because, just 50 days of completing the harvest period, the national government has not acted in terms of prices that economic sustainability for the producer.
specified that because Contreras the exchange rate and inflation, an analysis of projected costs which reveals that the sugar level should be shelf Bs 6.40 per kilo, which would represent a fair price of 3.17 bolivars to the producer for each kilo of sugar produced.
indicated that although there has been receptivity the Ministry of Popular Power for Agriculture and Lands, the price is not defined and should not be out of time, which is why it is necessary that there should be compensation now, so that leaves the producer benefit.
