Since last February and to date, there have been a total of 952 parish assemblies AgroVenezuela Mission, which is that 87.6% of the 1,086 parishes in the country, have participated in the activity whose purpose is to discuss the strengths, weaknesses, potentials and requirements of the agricultural sector.
These days, under the Organic Law on Food Security and Sovereignty, are aimed at producing 586,789 enrolled in the new mission, which started on Saturday 29 January and is intended to strengthen domestic food production by providing technical, financial and logistical support to small, medium and large producers.
According to data provided on Sunday by President Hugo Chavez, to date have been conducted 220 000 inspections land to corroborate the soil types to determine which items can be planted in these spaces.
These inspections involved 3,733 workers from the Ministry of Popular Power for Agriculture and Land (MAT) and attached agencies.
Likewise the Fund for Agricultural Development in Socialist (Fondas) l e Agricultural Bank of Venezuela (BAV), Bs 4.1 billion grant to fund 493,134 hectares, which is mainly grown white and yellow corn, soybean, cassava, banana, coffee, cocoa and vegetables.
